Tanzania v/s Amersham Cricket Club

Tanzania played its fifth tour match against Amersham Cricket Club, at Old Amersham town, and the team was warmly welcomed by the hosts. This match was broadcasted on the local radio stations and on the internet.

Tanzania lost the toss and were put to bat first, Tanzania lost an early wicket of Rishen Patel. Abhik Patwa and Shaheed Dhanani dominated the proceedings at a healthy scoring rate.

There were good contributions from the middle order batsmen Athumani Kakonzi and Hamisi Abdallah to post a formidable total of 189 in the allotted 45 overs.

The weather conditions in London are getting better and the team is adapting to the climate. Khalil Rehemtulla broke the backbone of the opposition by removing both the openers.

The second spell left arm leg spinner Athumani Kakonzi  put pressure on the Amersham Batsmen to allow Benson Mwita take 5 wickets in 9 overs for 26 runs only.

Tanzania bowled out the opposition in the 39th over for 111 runs.
