Tanzania plays it easy against Nepal

After five continuous and vigorous days of playing the Tanzanian team reached the Medicina ground to play a last formality playoff game against Nepal with their 5 key players nursing injuries, after both the teams had already secured their spot in Division 4 in their initial round robin of the tournament

Khalil Rehemtulla, Tanzania’s opening seamer got injured in the last ball of his first over and was unable to continue and became the 6th key player in their teams injured list for this event which was the worry of the team officials prior to the start of the game.

Tanzania won the toss and batted first scoring only 73 runs all out in 40 overs. In defending the Tanzanians could not utilize their duo seamers to their capability and were forced in to bring in their reserve bowlers making it easy for Nepal to finish the game in the 13th over. As the result of this game would in no way change the position of Tanzania.

Tanzania’s coach Zully Rehemtulla said he was happy with the overall performance of his young team which was hindered by injuries and just missed to qualify for the Division, but still managed to stay in the same division 4 which in itself is an achievement. We have enough time now to prepare our team for the next event.
