Tanzania faces another defeat.
Tanzania lost to Kenya in the Under 19 World Cup Qualifier in Group B, but with an improved batting performance. Kenya won the toss and put Tanzania to bat. Tanzania U19 lost 3 quick wickets in the first 3 overs, the score read 0/3. With such a disastrous start the remaining batsman resisted the Kenyan pace and spin attack to reach a total of 134 all out in the 47th over.
The remaining 7 batsman played sensibly and piled up runs in singles, with Mohammed Khimji and Issa Kikasi playing a sheet anchor role. In reply to the Tanzanian total, the Kenyan opening pair of Malhar Patel and Kalpesh Patel a gave Kenya a flying start scoring 63 in 9 overs.
Kenya then lost 4 quick wickets in succession with the score reading 88 for 4, the partnership between Hafeez Manji and Pritesh Limachia saw the Kenyans achieved the target of 134 in 30 overs.
Tanzanians opening bowling duo Hamisi Abdallah and Benson Mwita have failed to create an impression in the tournament as feared bowlers yet. The coach Mr. Rehmtullah had great expectations in the 2 bowlers who could have steered Tanzania to victories.
