At last Tanzania tastes victory

In the battle to fight for the 7th/8th position after loosing the plate semi finals. Tanzania and Fiji played their last game at the Police Ground and Tanzania's third on the same venue.

Tanzania won the toss and elected to field. Reshuffling of opening bowlers and aggressive fielding saw the Fijian succumb to accurate bowling by the Tanzania's duo of Nabeel Premji and Khalil Rehmtullah. At one stage the Fijians were 12 runs for 2 wickets in the 8th over, the second wicket partnership of 60 runs saw the Fijian's achieve 136 runs in 38 overs.

Tanzanian batsman Hamisi Abdallah and Nabeel Premji opened the innings and lost their 1st wicket in the 8th over when the score was 13 runs. Brave Hatim Kudrati played one down batsman to consolidate on his previous performance at No. 8 batsman. Hamisi Abdallah displaying class batting skills together with Hatim Kudrati put on third wicket partnership on 45 runs, only to be broken by a poor umpiring decision when Hatim Kudrati was given out the score was 58 runs. Needing another 80 runs to win Hamisi Abdallah 40 runs and Benson Mwita 39 runs saw the Tanzanian record their first victory and earned the 7th position.
