Italy denies Tanzania promotion to Division 3
Tanzania lost the toss and were put to field first by
Italy in the deciding match for the promotion to Division 3. After
losing two early wickets the Italy batsmen stabilized their innings with
good contributions from Northcote (29), Petricola (89), Crowley (38) and
Patrizi (49) to take their score to 259 for the loss of 7 wickets.
Chasing the Italian high score of 260, losing wickets
at regular intervals did not help Tanzania achieve the target and were
all dismissed for 92 in the 27th over, which was their lowest
score in the tournament. However Tanzania respectfully managed to hold
its position in Division 4 with Nepal.
